Decay Gallery

The first time I created a mud canvas, on which I placed a leaf sculpture, I revisted it on a couple of occasions later and witnessed it change, decay and degrade.

I was very interested to discover how it changed and I realised how each became a mini record of the elements through which it had existed.

Heavy rain might strip the mud from the stone or hot weather and wind may crack and dry out the mud.

Here are some of the records of those sculptures, photographed over subsequent days, weeks and sometimes months.
